My first mission trip in Cambodia

It all started with a dream.  On 1 Jan 2013, I had a dream.  I was cycling and someone was directing me.  In my dream, I saw Myanmar on my left and Vietnam on my right.  I got the impression not to go beyond that.  I woke up and quickly checked the map and saw Myanmar on my left and Vietnam on my right.  God has started to prepare my heart to take a step further.

There is a group of sisters that we regularly meet for lunch and fellowship and one of the sister's husband is a missionary.  We were curious to find out more of the mission work and we invited the sister's husband to share with us.  When we heard that her husband is leading a mission to Cambodia in Jun, we felt a stir within and indicated that we would like to be part of the mission.

We started attending training twice a month to prepare for the mission trip.  The first training is in February.  I enjoyed the training very much.  1 John 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked is our guiding principle. The training helps to equip God's people to be disciple makers to be sent out to answer Jesus' call.  It gives an overview of Jesus' life and ministry.   A pattern of life that Jesus lived and Jesus' strategy of evangelism.  As we were conducting the training in Cambodia, I pray that many leaders will catch God's vision in Habukkuk 2:14 and answers Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20.

Our mission trip is from Jun 24 - 30, 2013.  We visited a church in the midst of a village.  It is very heart warming. In Romans 15: 20 It has always been Paul ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known...  It touches my heart to see missionaries who selflessly bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to places where Christ was not known, to the village which is quite unreached.  I met one missionary who came to Cambodia from Indonesia.  He was obedient to God's calling and came to Cambodia with his wife.  He started a family there and was instrumental to connect missionaries from all over the world to Cambodia.  May God bless this beautiful couple abundantly.!

Below is a picture of the village church.

There is no wall that surrounds the church building.  The villagers are simple people and they were hungry for God's word.

Praise the Lord!  God loves Cambodia.

3Ds - Declutter, Detox & Debug

Just learnt these 3 words in a seminar - De-clutter, De-tox, De-bug In order to hear God clearly, I need to constantly apply these 3Ds in my life:- 1) De-clutter Most of the times I have a hard time to discard things and I tend to keep them and then forgot about them.  Things get piled out and it does affect my search for important things.  Likewise, I also have many ungodly thoughts that can clutter my thought and keep me from hearing God.  It takes times to de-clutter and I need God to show me what it is that is hidden, which He desires for me to discard, so that there is a room to hear His voice. 2)  De-tox Toxic attitudes & behaviors that I allow into my life affects my hearing and has impact on my walk with God.  There are many lies that the enemy has planted in my thought life and this can impact my relationship with God. I need to discern and identif...

ASK, SEEK & KNOCK

Below is a sharing by a christian friend:- ASK: I got up early one morning & rushed right into the day. I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time to pray. Problems just tumbled about me and heavier came each task;'Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered. He said,"But you didn't ask." I wanted to see joy & beauty but the day toiled on, gray & bleak; I wondered why God didn't show me. He said,"But you didn't seek." I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock. God gently & lovingly chided "My child, you didn't knock," I woke up this morning and paused before entering the day. I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.  My friend's experience reminded me of a quote by Martin Luther :  “I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”
