Open my eyes....

Disagreement can be beautiful!

In the past, we usually do not encourage disagreement when we lead and guide our children. However, I just learnt that disagreement can be beautiful! It is good to lead our children to be honest about their doubts, lead them to bring all their questions/doubts to God, wrestle with life issues and not just let them go. When I learn to bring doubts/questions before Him rather than keep them in my heart, He revealed and cleared my doubts not immediately but in His time. This help to increase my faith in Him! Unexamined and unquestioned faith often does not survive the questions raised in their later year.

Bearing fruit

We are told in the Bible not just to bear fruit, but fruit that remains. John 15:16 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. I just learnt that our decisions and the choices we made daily, whether godly or ungodly will bear fruit. Consequently what we do and even what we say will bear fruit. Thus the critical question is : can our fruit remains? can we bear fruit to God? Matthew 7:17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

If you want to grow...

The following is a popular children hymn that were taught to the young children. When the kids sing "grow", they will try to stretch taller to their abilities. Read your Bible, pray everyday Pray everyday, Pray everyday. Read your bible, pray everyday If you want to grow, If you want to grow.. Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. As we spend time in his Word, meditating it, applying it, unknowingly, we grow spiritually. God's desire become our desire. We love to do His will. We learn to listen and obey Him. We also learn to thank and praise Him and worship Him. It is good to praise Him and adore Him!

God's wrath

Have you heard about God's wrath. Personally, I don't hear much about this topic. However, it seemed to methat this topic is very real in the Bible. The Bible talks about the wrath of God quite often. This week I hear a message and understand that God's wrath is not part of His intrinsic nature but it is His response to sin in His Holiness. Our God is a holy God. He hates sin. In His righteousness he has to judge sin, the word of God says : "The soul that sinneth, it shall die" Ezekiah 18:20. On the other hand, we always hear that God is love. He loves mankind. He hates the sin but not the sinner. In His love, he prepares a way for sinners to be saved ie. through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. He shed His blood for the remission of our sins so that whoever believes in Him will be saved. Thus it is not a small matter to receive Jesus as our Savior because it really matters in eternity! Accepting Jesus as your personal Savior is the way to escape ...

It's all about Jesus

Yesterday message still lingers on in my memory...what is the basis of Christian ministry? It's all about Jesus and nothing else. This truth is starting to sink deeper into me. He is the source and the motivation of our ministry. If we do any christian work apart from Him, it will go to waste....it is not counted... John 15:5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. He is the essence of everything...Only He counts...I realised I need to serve the children with this mindset! John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. We exist for Him - He is our meaning, the Lord of our life... 1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him. He is the reason for the creation of all things .... Colossians 1:16 For b...

God cares for you!

Do you know that God cares for you? His word is my source of encouragement and strength to live each day. May it encourages you too! God cares for you. He knows every details of our life. Luke 12:7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Do you have needs? Sometimes, we get caught up with our needs. However, when I learn to trust Him, He will take care of all my needs. If you dare to ask of Him, you will soon discover that He is so real and living!! Matthew 6:31-32 Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Anxious? The antidote is to entrust all things to him by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your...
