Exercising Authority

I love to listen to Bible’s story and one of them is the story of the Roman Centurion in Matthew 8:5-10. In this story, we learn about authority. This Roman centurion was a man who knew authority and one day he came to Jesus to plead for Him to heal his servant. When Jesus was about to go to heal his servant, he immediately replied, “Lord I am not worthy that you should come under my roof. He knew about authority for he was a man under authority, having soldiers under him. As a commander, he exercised authority over his soldiers : And when he said to this soldier, “Go” and he goes; and to another, “Come.” And he comes; and to his servant, “Do this, and he does it.”

He asked Jesus to speak a word, and his servant will be healed. Jesus was marveled and commented on his great faith.

We can also learn to speak God's language: Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. There is authority in God's Word. In life there are many mountains, hurdles and we can learn to speak to these mountains and commanding them to be lifted up and thrown into the sea. However, in order for God's Word to be effective in your life, there is a need to live in obedience to Him and also forgiving towards other. (Mark 11:24-26)

24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

25 “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.”

3Ds - Declutter, Detox & Debug

Just learnt these 3 words in a seminar - De-clutter, De-tox, De-bug In order to hear God clearly, I need to constantly apply these 3Ds in my life:- 1) De-clutter Most of the times I have a hard time to discard things and I tend to keep them and then forgot about them.  Things get piled out and it does affect my search for important things.  Likewise, I also have many ungodly thoughts that can clutter my thought and keep me from hearing God.  It takes times to de-clutter and I need God to show me what it is that is hidden, which He desires for me to discard, so that there is a room to hear His voice. 2)  De-tox Toxic attitudes & behaviors that I allow into my life affects my hearing and has impact on my walk with God.  There are many lies that the enemy has planted in my thought life and this can impact my relationship with God. I need to discern and identif...

God is watching

I heard this true story during one of our home meeting. I find this story very touching and decided to put it in my blog as an encouragement to those who are faithfully taking care of their loved one. You are not alone, God is watching our every action. A sister in china shared that while her husband was in coma, she read some scriptures from the new testament to him daily and after each reading, she will pat her husband on his shoulder and say "amen" on his behalf. She did this faithfully for ten years. One day, while doing the regular reading, she suddenly heard a loud "Amen" and it came from none other but her husband. God has honoured our sister by showing mercy to her husband and while he was still in coma, his spirit is still very much alive. It is a good reminder to me not to belittle what we are doing for others. When we have a heart, God will show mercy to those whom we are praying and taking care.
