Roller coaster ride

Yesterday night, we sang the following hymn:

Stanza 1
He leadeth me, O blessed thought
O words with heavenly comfort fraught
What e'er I do, where e're I be
Still tis God's hand that leadeth me

Chorus:
He leadeth me, He leadeth me
By His own hand, He leadeth me
His faithful follower I would be
For by His hand He leadeth me

Stanza 2
Sometimes 'mid scenes of deepest gloom
Sometimes where Eden's bowers bloom
By waters still, o'er troubled sea
Still 'tis God's hand that leadeth me

I have sung this hymn many times but tonight I have a different perspective of this hymn. I just felt that as we start to follow God, He seems to be leading us through a roller coaster ride. Is this part of perfecting our faith in him? The writer of this hymn could say whatever he does, whatever he be, it is God's hand that leadeth him.

In the past, I chose my own path, I will avoid those paths that I perceive as disastrous or not in my favor, however, the more you learn to follow God, He seems to bring you to some paths which you did not want to go. Perhaps this is the only way you can know Him deeper because when we are too comfortable, there is no need to trust God and no need to turn to Him. We can rely on the worldly wisdom to make decision, to live our life without even relying on Him.

The more you are willing to let Him lead you, the more you know who He is, and you will have the confidence that He is always there with you. Perhaps at the end of the roller coaster ride, you will be able to say that you really enjoy the ride with Him because He taught you many valuable lessons and many things about Himself which you will not be able to find in a smooth ride!

3Ds - Declutter, Detox & Debug

Just learnt these 3 words in a seminar - De-clutter, De-tox, De-bug In order to hear God clearly, I need to constantly apply these 3Ds in my life:- 1) De-clutter Most of the times I have a hard time to discard things and I tend to keep them and then forgot about them.  Things get piled out and it does affect my search for important things.  Likewise, I also have many ungodly thoughts that can clutter my thought and keep me from hearing God.  It takes times to de-clutter and I need God to show me what it is that is hidden, which He desires for me to discard, so that there is a room to hear His voice. 2)  De-tox Toxic attitudes & behaviors that I allow into my life affects my hearing and has impact on my walk with God.  There are many lies that the enemy has planted in my thought life and this can impact my relationship with God. I need to discern and identif...

Changed Basket

Someone shared a beautiful story with me today. Passing it on: Why do we read bible even if we can't understand or remember ???? An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa woke up early sitting at the kitchen table reading the bible. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could. One day the grandson  asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the bible just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bible  do?" The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water." The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river wit...
