Are you anxious?

God desires that we trust Him. However, many things can cause us to worry. I am always encouraged by Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Prayer is a way to tell God our needs, our fear, our worry or concern. When we pray, we learn to trust God ie. we acknowledge He is the sovereign one, He knows what we need.

He is perfectly capable of supplying everything we need. Isaiah 59:1 Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

On the other hand, worry doesn’t accomplish anything. Jesus tells us that we cannot add a single day to our life by worrying or can we make ourselves happier or whatever by worrying.

Constant worry means we do not have our priorities straight. Jesus tells us, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be provided you.” When we pray, we learn to fill our minds with thoughts of God’s grace and worry will have no place in us.

Another thing I enjoy is live life one day at a time. There is no need to worry about tomorrow, because we do not know if we will even have tomorrow. Today is a gift of God. Learn to use it fully, cherish it.

Last but not least, when we pray, we also experience the peace of God that passes all understanding, which will calm and steady our minds in Christ Jesus.

God bless!

  1. Hi Iris, it's quite natural to worry - especially when it conerns our loved ones. It's how we respond to our worries that is important. (Read from a book recently on how to manage our negative emotions)

3Ds - Declutter, Detox & Debug

Just learnt these 3 words in a seminar - De-clutter, De-tox, De-bug In order to hear God clearly, I need to constantly apply these 3Ds in my life:- 1) De-clutter Most of the times I have a hard time to discard things and I tend to keep them and then forgot about them.  Things get piled out and it does affect my search for important things.  Likewise, I also have many ungodly thoughts that can clutter my thought and keep me from hearing God.  It takes times to de-clutter and I need God to show me what it is that is hidden, which He desires for me to discard, so that there is a room to hear His voice. 2)  De-tox Toxic attitudes & behaviors that I allow into my life affects my hearing and has impact on my walk with God.  There are many lies that the enemy has planted in my thought life and this can impact my relationship with God. I need to discern and identif...

God is watching

I heard this true story during one of our home meeting. I find this story very touching and decided to put it in my blog as an encouragement to those who are faithfully taking care of their loved one. You are not alone, God is watching our every action. A sister in china shared that while her husband was in coma, she read some scriptures from the new testament to him daily and after each reading, she will pat her husband on his shoulder and say "amen" on his behalf. She did this faithfully for ten years. One day, while doing the regular reading, she suddenly heard a loud "Amen" and it came from none other but her husband. God has honoured our sister by showing mercy to her husband and while he was still in coma, his spirit is still very much alive. It is a good reminder to me not to belittle what we are doing for others. When we have a heart, God will show mercy to those whom we are praying and taking care.
