Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.
In the past, when you asked me what is my plan in life, I always have a list of things that I am going to do to achieve what I plan for but usually God is not in my plan. However, our God loved shaking things up in our life. He wants us to live a life that pleases Him. He has a very meaningful purpose for us and that is when Christ who is our life appears, we will appear with Him in glory. Col 3:1-4
We are therefore exhorted to seek those things which are above by setting our mind on it, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. When we set our mind on things above, the things of the earth will gradually fade into the background.
Isn't it exciting to realise that He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved." Ephesians 1:4-6
Nothing happened to us by chance : "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." Romans 8:28-29

Hi Iris, Yes, it's definitely good to know what is His purpose for us. All He wants from us is to have a relationship with Him. Everything that He creates is to glorify Him - and so are we. Many people in this world are leading very sad lives because they find life meaningless - they do not know why they are here.
