The Word of God

I am beginning to appreciate the Word of God more each day. In the past, the Word of God are just mere letters to me. It didn’t have much impact on my life because I just read it like any other books. However, in John 1:1 we see that the Word was God. “ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God”. If I want to know God, I need to spend time to read His Word. His word encompasses the totality of God: His nature, character, values, abilities and capabilities. There are creative power in the Word.

My desire for this year is to receive more revelation of God himself by laying hold on the word of God - hearing it, reading it, studying it, internalising it, meditating on it and finally acting on it in obedience. Let the word of Christ dwell in me richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Col 3:16

Got this story from an email and find it very meaningful. Please read on ... There is a story about a little eagle that fell out of its nest and landed in a turkey farm. God is watching

I heard this true story during one of our home meeting. I find this story very touching and decided to put it in my blog as an encouragement to those who are faithfully taking care of their loved one. You are not alone, God is watching our every action. A sister in china shared that while her husband was in coma,she read some scriptures from the new testament to him daily and after each reading, she will pat her husband on his shoulder and say "amen" on his behalf. She did this faithfully for ten years. One day, while doing the regular reading, she suddenly heard a loud "Amen" and it came from none other but her husband. God has honoured our sister by showing mercy to her husband and while he was still in coma, his spirit is still very much alive. It is a good reminder to me not to belittle what we are doing for others. When we have a heart, God will show mercy to those whom we are praying and taking care.

Genesis 1:6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” Genesis 1:7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. Genesis 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. As the light came in, my spirit was quickened, it became alive. There is heaven in me, a inner sanctuary...my spirit. A verse came to me: Col 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Whenever I learn to exercise my spirit to set my minds on the heavenly things, the earthly things/situations become dim and fade away.
