Valley of Baca

Psalm 84:6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.

Psalm 107:35 He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs.

We can take great comfort in God's word.  Though we pass through the Valley of Baca, we are not alone.  Though in our walk, at times, the journey seemed difficult and tough, like the valley of Baca, we can take courage that God is with us.  As we focus on Him and not on the siutations, He turned the desert into pools of water and also the parched grounds in our lives into flowing springs.  As we received comfort from Him personally, with the same comfort we can comfort others.

In the past, I like to wiggle out of a situation and not willing to turn to God to learn the lesson He has planned for me.  Thus I lost many blessings in term of knowing Him deeper.  However, as I learn to pray for His grace and help in a given situation, I get to know Him deeper.

I recalled a situation when things are chaotic and I wanted very much to just come out of the situation on my own.  However, I decided to turn to God and pray.  I learn to wait upon Him.  True enough, I experience His great peace.  I have not known Him as the perfect peace till I experienced Him in this situation.

Dear God, we thank you that you are sovereign.  You know all the situations we are going through.  You have allowed them for our benefit so that we will have a deeper knowledge of you.  May you direct the hearts of all your children to be willing to trust you and wait upon you.  Help us not to walk away for any situations that you have ordered for our perfection, but turn and pray to you so that you can accomplish what you want to accomplish in us.  In Jesus' name we pray.  Amen.

3Ds - Declutter, Detox & Debug

Just learnt these 3 words in a seminar - De-clutter, De-tox, De-bug In order to hear God clearly, I need to constantly apply these 3Ds in my life:- 1) De-clutter Most of the times I have a hard time to discard things and I tend to keep them and then forgot about them.  Things get piled out and it does affect my search for important things.  Likewise, I also have many ungodly thoughts that can clutter my thought and keep me from hearing God.  It takes times to de-clutter and I need God to show me what it is that is hidden, which He desires for me to discard, so that there is a room to hear His voice. 2)  De-tox Toxic attitudes & behaviors that I allow into my life affects my hearing and has impact on my walk with God.  There are many lies that the enemy has planted in my thought life and this can impact my relationship with God. I need to discern and identif...

Changed Basket

Someone shared a beautiful story with me today. Passing it on: Why do we read bible even if we can't understand or remember ???? An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa woke up early sitting at the kitchen table reading the bible. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could. One day the grandson  asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the bible just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bible  do?" The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water." The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river wit...
