Jesus meets all our needs

Many a time, our Lord does not answer our prayer as we expect and in our way. Our prayer will be answered only in His way and also when we submit to him in obedient faith.

There is a story in the Bible that tells us of a nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. He pleaded Jesus to go to Capernaum to heal his son who was at the point of death. And Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe. Jesus did not intend to go with Him to Capernaum. Instead Jesus was calling him to the highest possible faith. The nobleman must not first see but first believe the word of Jesus without any outward proof. (John 4:46-54)

Extraction from the Bible :
4:50 Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
4:51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”
4:52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”
4:53 So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” And he himself believed, and his whole household.

It is only when the nobleman put his complete trust in Jesus and received His word of healing and went his way, miracle happened. Not only he believed but his whole household. Our Lord not only meets his urgent need but also his deeper need - ie. to trust him without any outward proof.

May we in simple faith just trust Him to do all things well even though our needs may be very urgent and pressing and obeyed His word. He is sovereign.

A eagle story

Got this story from an email and find it very meaningful. Please read on ... There is a story about a little eagle that fell out of its nest and landed in a turkey farm. The eagle grew up among the turkeys and, although he looked a bit different, he learned to waddle like a turkey, bob his head like a turkey, and act like a turkey. One day the young eagle looked up into the sky and saw a beautiful eagle soaring above. The little eagle in the turkey yard thought, Oh, I would love to be able to do that! As the eagle soared overhead, it looked down and saw the young eagle below. Suddenly it swooped down to the ground and asked, "What are you doing here?" The little eagle replied, "I am just here in the turkey yard where I have always been." The great eagle looked and said, "Spread your wings, boy. You do just what I do. Follow me." Then he flapped his wings and lifted off the ground. The young eagle tried it, too. "Wheeee! This is all right!" "...

God is watching

I heard this true story during one of our home meeting. I find this story very touching and decided to put it in my blog as an encouragement to those who are faithfully taking care of their loved one. You are not alone, God is watching our every action. A sister in china shared that while her husband was in coma, she read some scriptures from the new testament to him daily and after each reading, she will pat her husband on his shoulder and say "amen" on his behalf. She did this faithfully for ten years. One day, while doing the regular reading, she suddenly heard a loud "Amen" and it came from none other but her husband. God has honoured our sister by showing mercy to her husband and while he was still in coma, his spirit is still very much alive. It is a good reminder to me not to belittle what we are doing for others. When we have a heart, God will show mercy to those whom we are praying and taking care.

Hearing God (silent retreat)....Part 3

Genesis 1:6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.” Genesis 1:7 Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. Genesis 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day. As the light came in, my spirit was quickened, it became alive. There is heaven in me, a inner sanctuary...my spirit. A verse came to me: Col 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. Whenever I learn to exercise my spirit to set my minds on the heavenly things, the earthly things/situations become dim and fade away. There are times, we toggle between our spirit and our flesh...we murmur...but however, when we learn to turn to our spirit and trust Him.. He restore us and leads us once again. Genesis 1:9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one ...
