God's wrath

Have you heard about God's wrath. Personally, I don't hear much about this topic. However, it seemed to methat this topic is very real in the Bible. The Bible talks about the wrath of God quite often. This week I hear a message and understand that God's wrath is not part of His intrinsic nature but it is His response to sin in His Holiness. Our God is a holy God. He hates sin. In His righteousness he has to judge sin, the word of God says : "The soul that sinneth, it shall die" Ezekiah 18:20. On the other hand, we always hear that God is love. He loves mankind. He hates the sin but not the sinner. In His love, he prepares a way for sinners to be saved ie. through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. He shed His blood for the remission of our sins so that whoever believes in Him will be saved. Thus it is not a small matter to receive Jesus as our Savior because it really matters in eternity! Accepting Jesus as your personal Savior is the way to escape

It's all about Jesus

Yesterday message still lingers on in my memory...what is the basis of Christian ministry? It's all about Jesus and nothing else. This truth is starting to sink deeper into me. He is the source and the motivation of our ministry. If we do any christian work apart from Him, it will go to waste....it is not counted... John 15:5"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. He is the essence of everything...Only He counts...I realised I need to serve the children with this mindset! John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. We exist for Him - He is our meaning, the Lord of our life... 1 Corinthians 8:6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him. He is the reason for the creation of all things .... Colossians 1:16 For b

God cares for you!

Do you know that God cares for you? His word is my source of encouragement and strength to live each day. May it encourages you too! God cares for you. He knows every details of our life. Luke 12:7 Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Do you have needs? Sometimes, we get caught up with our needs. However, when I learn to trust Him, He will take care of all my needs. If you dare to ask of Him, you will soon discover that He is so real and living!! Matthew 6:31-32 Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Anxious? The antidote is to entrust all things to him by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your

PRONE TO STRAY

This morning I read Psalm 80. The Psalmist prayed for restoration because God's people have strayed away from him. I realised that this also happens to me often. Yesterday is my third day through the course on Photoshop Illustrator. The instructor remarked that I have created many unwanted paths and also some strayed items in my artboard. All these unwanted items and paths can frustrate my artwork and the results can be horrendous. The main reason why this is happening is because I still do not have a good knowledge of the software. This remind me about my spiritual experience. Many a time I am not familiar with God's working in my life, and I tend to create some unwanted paths due to lack of patience and inability to understand. However, when I spend more time in His Word, I became more familiar with Him and His way and learn to be still and wait for Him. We also have the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us into the understanding of His Word. Praise Him! This is the bunn

SNOW IN KOREA

The reason we decided to spend our holiday in Korea is because my younger daughter has expressed a strong desire to see snow. God is gracious and not only we see snow but we also see snow falling beautifully from the sky. The sight is just beautiful! Thank God! This reminds me of Psalm 51: 7 "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." Though my sins which are as red as scarlet, they are made whiter than snow in the blood of Jesus. I enjoyed that the snow is not like a whited wall that is white on the surface but rather it is white all through. Psalm 51: 6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward parts, And in the hidden part You will make me to know wisdom.

Kimchi equivalent to "cheese"

Koreans will utter "kimchi" (a super-spicy Koreans' favorite condiment) instead of cheese when they get their pictures taken. In the past, I do not appreciate this dish but after attending the DIY kimchi making in Dae Jang Guem Kimchi School, my perspective has changed. We were told that Kimchi which comprises reddish fermented cabbage (and sometimes radish) with a mix of garlic, salt, vinegar, chilli peppers, and other spices - has been named among the top 5 World's healthiest food. The biggest benefit of this dish perhaps is the “healthy bacteria” called lactobacilli, found in fermented foods like kimchi and yogurt. This good bacteria helps with digestion and it also seems to help stop and even prevent yeast infections. This dish can also be kept for a very long period and still stays fresh. I was told that if properly kept, it can last up to a period of one year. The garlic and vinegar are natural preservatives that keep the raw vegetables and fruits tasting gre

FAMILY TRIP TO KOREA

Just came back from Korea and it is nice to be back in Singapore. The trip is really a fun learning experience except for the weather which is terribly cold at certain day. However, if you are prepared, it can be an enjoyable experience. My dear friend Jean has faithfully helped me to update my blog with her encouraging words. Will share and update all with what I learned in this trip.

EZEKIEL 41 : 7

Still upward be your onward course; For this I pray today. Still upward as the years go by, And seasons pass away. Still upward in this coming year; Your path is all untried. Still upward may you journey on, Close by your Saviour's side. Still upward although sorrow come; And trials crush your heart. Still upward may they draw your soul, With Christ to walk apart. Still upward till the day shall break; And shadwos all have flown. Still upward till in Heaven you wake, And stand before the throne. I want to scale the utmost height, And catch a gleam of glory bright. But still I'll pray, till heaven I've found, Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

DEUTERONOMY 11:11-12

Today we stand at the threshold of the unknown. Before us lies a new year, and we are going forward to take possession of it. Who knows what we will find? What new experiences or changes will come our way? What new needs will arise? In spite of the uncertainty before us, we have a cheerful and comforting message from our heavenly Father:"The LORD your God cares for {it}; the eyes of the LORD ........ are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end." He leads us on by paths we did not know; Upward He leads us, though our steps be slow, Though oft we faint and falter on the way, Though storm and darkness oft obscure the day; Yet when the clouds are gone, We know He leads us on. He leads us on through all the unquiet years; Past all our dreamland hopes, and doubts and fears, He guides our steps, through all the tangled maze Of losses, sorrows, and o'er clouded days; We know His will is done; And still he leads us on.
