My sister-in-law is a horticulturist and today she led us to a farm visit to the Aeroponic farm in the Kranji Countryside. We set off at 9.45am from Ang Mo Kio & reach Kranji MRT around 10.15am. The Kranji Express Bus will arrive at 10.30am. There is a need to follow the bus schedule else you have to wait for more than 1 1/2 hour.
This is the greenhouse also called a glasshouse or hothouse and is a building where plants are cultivated. From Wilkipedia: A greenhouse is a structure with a glass or plastic roof and frequently glass or plastic walls; it heats up because incoming solar radiation from the sun warms plants, soil, and other things inside the building faster than heat can escape the structure. Air warmed by the heat from hot interior surfaces is retained in the building by the roof and wall. These structures range in size from small sheds to very large buildings

The one in blue is my sister in law and the one beside her is her late husband's sister.
My watch shows 12.30 and my stomach is growling. We have our lunch around one at Bollywood Veggies Restaurant. This restaurant is opened by Ivy & her husband. I think it is worth the money. My sister in law is kind enough to foot the bill. About 40 plus for four person. Beside the foods, we have 4 cups of drinks, 2 fig drink (taste good), one lemon grass & one aloe vera (very nice). We have also desserts, they are simply wonderful - one kueh kushi, one tapioca kueh & one banana cake (warm one lei!!).
These are the mushrooms. Really an eye opener for me. This is the first time I see mushrooms in their growing stage. Thanks Margaret for being our guide.
Time flies and about 3.45pm we took the last bus and set off home. Tired but meaningful. It is not only the things I learnt but also the bonding I experienced! More photos are in my facebook.
