Christian battles belong to the Lord

Are you battling everyday? You are not alone. I also battle every day. Today a sister shared how she overcame her gambling habit. In the past she could play majong from morning to night and also loved buying lottery. However, she won this battle quite easily because she was enjoying her walk with God. She did not know that she had already given up this bad habit until someone pointed out to her.

However some habits are with us for many years. To get rid of them is like a mission impossible. But we need not be discouraged!! Look at the word of God again, the Israelites were faced with many enemies - the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites etc. but God said he will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for them. Little by little He will drive them out before them, until they have increased enough to take possession of the land. (Exodus 23:28-30). Our bad habits are just one of our spiritual enemies that are distracting us from walking with God.

Similarly, we need to cooperate with God. John 15:5b ...apart from me(Christ) you can do nothing. He is the captain of our salvation. Hebrews 2:10. God said he will not drive our enemies out in a single year....it is little by little ....until we have increased enough to take possession of the land.

The more we enjoy Christ, the more we increase in strength to live a victorious life and similar to our sister's experience, we may not even realised that we have already won the battle. Praise God!!

3Ds - Declutter, Detox & Debug

Just learnt these 3 words in a seminar - De-clutter, De-tox, De-bug In order to hear God clearly, I need to constantly apply these 3Ds in my life:- 1) De-clutter Most of the times I have a hard time to discard things and I tend to keep them and then forgot about them.  Things get piled out and it does affect my search for important things.  Likewise, I also have many ungodly thoughts that can clutter my thought and keep me from hearing God.  It takes times to de-clutter and I need God to show me what it is that is hidden, which He desires for me to discard, so that there is a room to hear His voice. 2)  De-tox Toxic attitudes & behaviors that I allow into my life affects my hearing and has impact on my walk with God.  There are many lies that the enemy has planted in my thought life and this can impact my relationship with God. I need to discern and identif...

ASK, SEEK & KNOCK

Below is a sharing by a christian friend:- ASK: I got up early one morning & rushed right into the day. I had so much to accomplish that I didn't have time to pray. Problems just tumbled about me and heavier came each task;'Why doesn't God help me?" I wondered. He said,"But you didn't ask." I wanted to see joy & beauty but the day toiled on, gray & bleak; I wondered why God didn't show me. He said,"But you didn't seek." I tried to come into God's presence; I used all my keys at the lock. God gently & lovingly chided "My child, you didn't knock," I woke up this morning and paused before entering the day. I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.  My friend's experience reminded me of a quote by Martin Luther :  “I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”
