God is like an eagle

Exodus 19:4 'You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.

Deut 32 : 11 like an eagle that stirs up its nest and hovers over its young, that spreads its wings to catch them and carries them on its pinions.

These two portions were read in our morning devotion. When I reached home, I decided to read out more about eagle. What I learnt is that when the baby eagles are born, the parents bring food up to their nest and feed them. When they are ready to learn to fly, mother eagle will fly into their nest and begin to thrash around causing a great commotion. Eventually one of the baby eagle will fall out of the nest and begin heading for the earth below. As the baby eagle is not really sure of how to use its wing, he does lots of flapping while heading straight down! Just before the baby hits the ground, the mother eagle flies underneath in order to “catch” the baby on her powerful wings and she flies him safely back to the nest. This routine continues for days until all the baby eagles learn how to fly.

Isn’t it similar to our Christian experience? Sometimes we love to remain in our own comfort zone and God will come in to stir up our nest and we dislike it. We view any interruptions or sad/unfortunate events as negative. God stir up our nest for good reason. He wants us to soar on wings like an eagle, will run and not grow weary, walk and not faint. Isaiah 40 : 31

3Ds - Declutter, Detox & Debug

Just learnt these 3 words in a seminar - De-clutter, De-tox, De-bug In order to hear God clearly, I need to constantly apply these 3Ds in my life:- 1) De-clutter Most of the times I have a hard time to discard things and I tend to keep them and then forgot about them.  Things get piled out and it does affect my search for important things.  Likewise, I also have many ungodly thoughts that can clutter my thought and keep me from hearing God.  It takes times to de-clutter and I need God to show me what it is that is hidden, which He desires for me to discard, so that there is a room to hear His voice. 2)  De-tox Toxic attitudes & behaviors that I allow into my life affects my hearing and has impact on my walk with God.  There are many lies that the enemy has planted in my thought life and this can impact my relationship with God. I need to discern and identif...

Changed Basket

Someone shared a beautiful story with me today. Passing it on: Why do we read bible even if we can't understand or remember ???? An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa woke up early sitting at the kitchen table reading the bible. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could. One day the grandson  asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the bible just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bible  do?" The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water." The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river wit...
